We went from this yesterday afternoon....
To this last night.....
My sweet baby boy was running a fever yesterday so we gave him some children's tylenol and it helped a little, but by the evening time it got worst.
Steve had been holding him on the couch and he was in and out of sleeping. Then all of a sudden I noticed Matthews eyes were blinking really fast and we took his temperature, which was 104! Then his little body started shaking.
We called 911 and it took them an eternity (as so it seemed) to get to us. All the while I was holding my baby and seeing his eyes close as his little shaking body started to slow down.
I was the hysterical mom screaming at the 911 operator to hurry up while my calm husband, along with said operator were trying to calm me down.
It was absolutely the most terrifying experience of my life!! EVER!
Diagnosis was Febrile Seizure. It happens when the child's temperature spikes that high. Such a scary experience.
Steve and a friend of ours were able to give Matthew a blessing in the hospital as we were waiting for his bloodwork results. Four hours later, we were all clear to go home.
Matthew is doing a little better now. Still has a slight fever. We are watching him carefully and have a follow up appointment in a little bit with his pediatrician.
I am SO grateful that my baby is ok. Life is too precious and fragile. I thank my Heavenly Father for watching over Matthew and our little family.
Please keep Matthew in your prayers.

Ahh man! I am glad he is fine now & y'all are back home. I have never had to experience febrile seizures, but I have known people that went through it. Poor thing. I am that frantic mama too, it's not abnormal. Thanks to the good Lord.
So absolutely scary...I can't even imagine. I'm so glad that he's doing better. My BIL and SIL both had those as children.
Praying for Matthew and for you guys as well.

Thinking of you.
Oh my god, I am so sorry! This is the most terrifying thing to go through. As a mother it's our biggest fear something will happen to our children. The same thing happened to my nephew a few months ago. His fever got so high he actually had a seizure. They acutally thought he had menigites. I am glad Matthew is okay.
SO scary! My sister had a febrile seizure and my mom still talks about it 25 years later. Thank goodness he is okay now! Love those smiling photos on the newest post!
That's so scary. :( Poor Matthew, just seeing those hospital pictures broke my heart.
Oh my goodness Hannah, that is so terrifying! I am so glad that he is okay now. Poor little guy. Hopefully it is never repeated.
Much love!
